Student Testimonials
Here are some testimonials from the Math students who did internships during their time at Saint Leo.
Megan Dammerman '19
For the Spring 2019 semester, I worked as an intern at Net Synergy Virtual Solutions (NetSVS). NetSVS was founded in 2008, and is focused on robotic process automation, big data, or whatever the need of the client might be. Each client demonstrates specific needs and NetSVS creates specific solutions to each one’s individual needs.
During this internship I had specific duties for the class, but also at the company itself. For the MAT-425 class I had to complete weekly journals, give a presentation about my time there, and also write a reflection paper about my experience. You earn 3 credits per 120 hours of work in the semester, and during my time I earned 6 credits, so I worked 240 hours. This class counts towards your upper division credits. I found this opportunity through Handshake and was reached out to by the company. I took this internship to gain work experience so that I would be more prepared for the workforce after I graduated.
At the internship I learned many things throughout the semester.
At the company I learned how to use Kapow RPA, which is the software the company uses to create solutions for the clients. I also learned very valuable problem-solving skills, because you will always need to know how to solve problems in a timely fashion. There was also a data visualization tool that I learned how to use called Tableau. Tableau is a software that can transform how people see data and how the use it. It makes analyzing data fast and easy, with many ways to visualize it and be able to look at it in different formats based upon your specific needs.
